How long we store your personal data
When you terminate your subscription with Storytel, your data will be stored and processed with us for a certain period of time after that.
Personal data which is collected and processed for marketing purposes is processed for as long as you have a subscription and twelve (12) months after your subscription has ended after being terminated.
For Storytel to be able to control, for example, use of gift cards, free trials and prevent misuse, personal data will be saved for twenty-four (24) months after the termination of the subscription. This also makes it easier for you to resume your listening and continue with your bookshelf if you choose to do so.
Keep in mind: Storytel may store data for longer if required by law or if required in order to preserve Storytel’s legal interests, for example if there are ongoing legal proceedings.
Request to delete your personal data
Please note: Should you wish to have your personal data deleted, you need to first cancel your subscription. If you need help with terminating your subscription, please first reach out to our customer support.
For iOS devices: Delete your personal data in the Storytel app
You can delete your personal data directly in the Storytel app if you go to Profile -> Settings⚙️ -> Privacy -> Delete account.
If you're unable to proceed with the deletion for any reason, you can instead send the deletion request to us at privacy@storytel.com and we'll help you further.
Write to privacy@storytel.com
You can write to privacy@storytel.com to request to have your personal data deleted. Before sending your email to us, please make sure to:
- cancel your subscription before sending your request
- if you need help with terminating your subscription, please first reach out to our customer support
- clearly specify if you want to have your personal data deleted
- write to us from the same email address that you registered your Storytel account with (if possible)
