Storytel offers different payment methods.
Web payments (website)
You will see payment methods available through our website when starting your subscription. You can always choose to pay with credit/debit card.
If you start your subscription through our website (not directly in the app), you can later change or update your payment method by logging into our website. Should you wish to do so, you can follow these steps:
- Go to My Pages -> My Account.
- Click on Payment.
- Click again on Update payment.
- Choose the payment method you want to change to and follow the instructions.
If the payment options through our website aren't suitable to you, you can instead start a subscription directly in the app (in-app payment). Please see more information further below in the article.
In-app payment (Google & Apple)
If you start your subscription directly in the app, your subscription and payment will be administered either by Apple or Google (depending on your device).
The payment options available to you when you start an in-app payment depends on which payments Apple and Google offer to you.
Please note: In-app payment is not compatible with all subscription plans or gift cards. Should you ever wish to change to another subscription plan or redeem a gift card, you need to first cancel your subscription and wait until the subscription period has ended before you can proceed.
My payment method wasn't accepted. Why?
Card payment (website)
If your card can't be accepted, it might be due to:
- card not being valid
- insufficient funds
- card not open for (recurring) internet purchases
Please check that your card can be accepted and try again. If you still experience issues, please contact your bank.
In-app payment (Google & Apple)
For issues with payment through Apple or Google, we recommend that you contact them directly if you're unable to find a solution.
